Bought new in 1995 this one owner machine is in excellent condition. It has spent its whole life in a 2 person home shop and has been very well cared for. Okamoto is the industry standard as far as automatic surface grinders go and this one is ready to use!
Bought new in 1971 by General Electric, this rare long bed 10EE is in great condition. I have converted it from 460V to 240V and the machine runs very well now. This will run on single or three phase power.
As a preventive maintenance measure all the fluids have been changed. All three belts have been replaced and all 6 belt tension idler bearings have been replaced. The oiling system has been fully flushed and all oil metering units have been replaced with new. The cooling fan is new and the large tubes have been replaced with a matching pair.
This machine was purchased from a medical manufacturer’s tool room. It is in very nice condition and is ready to use. This machine was purchased new by IBM in the mid 80’s and was used in a lab environment in Boulder, CO. The machine was sold in the late 90’s and has been sitting ever since. This is a late model lathe that has many desirable features such as a Sony DRO, hardened and ground cross slide way inserts, teflon carriage coating, 7″ wide flame hardened & ground lathe bed, Hardinge 4 degree taper lock spindle and much more.
This is the rare english/metric version of this machine and so it will do metric threading in addition to all the dials having metric and english graduations on them. The DRO toggles between english and metric as well.
This is a clean machine and the paint is all original. Not only does it look nice everything on this machine is functioning 100%. The way wipers are brand new and the bed plate is in great condition. This machine is under power and can be run and tested on site. The spindle is whisper quiet even at the full speed of 3000 RPM. The gearbox shifts easily and functions as it should. The DC motor power feed works well and all apron clutches function as they should. Included with this machine is a set of english and metric Hardinge brand collets that are like new. Also included is a set of import 5C hex and square collets with stand. Has a 3 jaw chuck and Aloris AXA tool post. The factory coolant guard is included but it does need to be worked on a bit.

Up for sale is this Atlas / Clausing 6BVS 5HP bed mill. This is a low hour machine that was bought new in 2001. This has not been used in the last 5 years and since new it has only machined graphite. Has power feeds, rapids and brake on all axis. The motor is variable speed from 55-3650 RPM and is inverter controlled from the operators panel. Has power downfeed on the Z axis. The spindle is a standard CAT 40 taper and included with the machine is a box of tool holders. Machine is coolant ready and has an auto lube system. Table is 60″ X 12″ and has a 2000 pound capacity.
This machine has a Kurt power drawbar installed as well as an Acu-Rite DRO unit. This is a very nice unit that is $36,000 to buy new. Many of the original manuals and paperwork are included with the machine.

This machine was purchased from the original owner who bought it new in 1987. He was a watch maker who used this in his personal shop. As the pictures show this machine is like new in every way and has minimal use. The way wipers dried up and cracked like they all do so they have been replaced with new.
A rebuilt HLV-H from Iverson & Co. will cost you 60K and something from Babin or Cavco will be $40K plus donor lathe. This lathe is available for immediate shipment and is as accurate as a new machine.

This is a very clean machine but it did not come to me that way. I have spent over 60 hours disassembling, cleaning, servicing and testing this machine. Not only does it look nice everything on this machine is functioning 100%. I have treated this machine as if it was my own. This is not a machine rebuilder shiny paint junk machine. This machine is under power and can be run and tested on site. The spindle is whisper quiet even at full speed of 3000 RPM. I cut a test bar and it was 0.0003″ taper over 7 inches which could even be improved upon. The gearbox shifts easily and functions as it should. The DC motor power feed works well and all apron clutches function as they should.
