1964 Monarch 10EE Lathe

Up for sale is this 1964 Monarch 10EE tool room lathe. It is the 20″ between centers model and it has the electronic lead screw reverse function (ELSR). This was originally a module drive machine but it has been converted at some point in its life. The original 5HP General Electric DC motor and original back gear assembly is still in use and has not been removed. The previous owner has installed a Hampton Products Co. solid state DC converter in the machine. I do not know anything about this drive but it does appear this company is still in business. I am able to power this machine up and get the spindle running. The ELSR functions exactly like it is supposed to. The speed change is done with a potentiometer near the coolant on/off switch. I can not get the machine to go over 1000 RPM the way it is set up but it does move into forward and reverse with the lever just as I would expect it to do. I could not get the coolant pump contactor to engage with the switch. I have not tried to troubleshoot these two issues. The spindle sounds nice and smooth and the back gear works as it should. The back gear is louder in forward than it is in reverse which seems normal to me. All the power feeds work as expected and the gearbox shifts into all positions like expected. The half nuts operate like expected and the carriage moves fine when they are engaged. The machine is running in many of the photos. This is 230V 3 phase powered.

I have cleaned this machine up a bit and topped it off with oil but it is being sold as-is like it sits. This would make a great project for anyone who is looking to own one of these great American lathes. I have a forklift and can load this onto a truck or trailer. I could make a skid for this machine for a fee. Local pick up is preferred and payment is to be made by cash or a bank check. This machine is powered and available for test in New Berlin, WI. 1993 Bridgeport Series I Knee Mill

Up for sale is this 1993 Bridgeport knee mill. This is a 2HP Series 1 that has the 2J variable speed head with an RPM range of 60-4200. This has the large 9″ X 48″ table as well as chrome ways on the Y axis. It is equipped with a 2 axis Anilam DRO, Bridgeport 8F power feed for the X axis, and a Kurt air operated power drawbar. This has a Bijur manual lubrication pump for way lubrication and an adjustable work lamp.

This machine appears to be in good condition and seems to have been taken care of during its life. I have powered it up and everything seems to function as it should. The table is in good condition and the original flaking is still visible. The power feed on the table works as well as the power feed in the head. There were no abnormal noises in the spindle or drive train as I ran it through the spindle speeds. The back gear works great as well.

This machine is powered up and local inspection is encouraged.

2003 Okamoto Linear 6-18 Surface Grinder

Up for sale is this 2003 Okamoto Linear 6-18B 6″ X 18″ surface grinder. This is in nearly unused condition and has to be seen to be believed. This came from a technical college that closed its shop program. The spindle is whisper quiet on this machine and the paint is in amazing condition. This still retains all the original hand scraping on the dual V ways of the saddle. This is a dual voltage machine and can be set up on 230V or 460V 3 phase (wired for 230V currently). This is equipped with a Kanetsu 6″ X 18″ magnetic chuck. In addition, this has the coolant package with additional guarding and coolant tank. Also included are the 4 cast iron leveling pads with threaded adjusters. To purchase new this machine would cost over $18,000!

1988 Mitsui MSG-250MH 8″ X 18″ Surface Grinder

Up for sale is this Mitsui 8″ X 18″ surface grinder. This is in nice condition and everything functions as it should. This still retains the original hand scraping on the dual V ways of the saddle. This surface grinder runs on either 208 or 230V 3 phase power. I have replaced all of the lubrication metering valves as well as cleaned and serviced the grinder. The table and saddle were removed and cleaned. The ball bearings in the table were removed, cleaned, and greased. The revolving handles, saddle rubber mats, and rubber coolant guard are new as well. This is equipped with a Walker 8″ X 18″ Ceramax fine pole magnetic chuck. This machine also has the optional 12″ grinding wheel package which includes a balancing wheel hub. This grinder is set up for coolant use and includes a coolant tank with pump. In addition, included are the 4 cast iron leveling pads with threaded adjusters. Mutsui is the best of the best and to purchase new this machine would cost over $30,000!

2012 Haas ST-20 Turning Center

Up for sale is this late 2012 Haas ST-20 CNC turning center. This is a nice unit with only 4600 spindle hours. The options on the machine are spindle orientation, belt-type chip conveyor, and programable hydraulic tailstock. The standard features and specifications are listed below.

This lathe comes out of a state of the art, beautifully clean, brass foundry machine shop. Brass is what this lathe has machined its whole life. All machines in this shop are bank leased and every 7 years are traded in for new units without exception. 2000 Bridgeport 2HP Milling Machine

Up for sale is this model year 2000 Bridgeport knee mill. This is a 2HP Series 1 that has the 2J variable speed head with an RPM range of 60-4200. This has the large 9″ X 48″ table as well as chrome ways on the Y axis. It is equipped with a 2 axis Acurite DRO with SENC 150 glass scales and a Bridgeport 8F power feed for the X axis. This has a Bijur manual lubrication pump for way lubrication and an adjustable work lamp.

This machine appears to be in good condition and seems to have been taken care of. I have powered it up and everything seems to function as it should. There are no marks or mishaps on the table and the original flaking is still visible. The power feed on the table works as well as the power feed in the head. There were no abnormal noises in the spindle or drivetrain as I ran it through the spindle speeds. The back gear works great as well. I do notice the table movements get tight at the extremes of travel which is common for these machines when the work is always in the center of travel.

Bridgeport 2J Replacement Head

Up for sale is this genuine 2HP Bridgeport variable speed 2J milling machine head. This came off a low hour 1986 Bridgeport knee mill in which the customer replaced this with a 3HP aftermarket unit. This is in great condition and has the original paint. I have rebuilt the upper head with new belts and bearings and the lower end is all original. This is an R8 spindle and the quill is in great shape. All the power feed functions work as they should. The variable speed works just like it should as does the back gear. The head runs through all the speeds easily and I do not hear any abnormal noises at all. This is ready to bolt on and use.
